With an estimated 80 percent of chronic diseases linked directly to our lifestyles choices, we have much control over our health, with a relatively small portion being attributable to our genes.
The major habits we build around things such as exercise, stress management, how much we drink or not smoking certainly impact our health. But for most people, it's daily food choices that are the most influential factor in the wellness equation.
We average 250 daily decisions about food and a great deal of those are based in habit. It's easy to fall into patterns that don't serve our long-term health very well. (We have our taste buds and inner-child to thank for that!) Far too-often from lack of planning, we hand over our food choices to strangers and we end up overeating due to supersized portions and food that's prepared only with taste in mind and not health.
Our invitation to you:
Remember in your daily food choices that besides being a joyful pleasure of life, food is medicine.
But also recognize that it can also be the opposite, i.e. poison.
Choose wisely and fuel your body well.
Eating healthfully is an investment in your long-term wellness bank.
To your good health!
