In our multitasking world it's rare to have quiet time to sit and reflect or to savor a home-cooked meal. Keeping stress at healthy levels and avoiding falling into emotional eating traps requires intentional effort.
When we make time to prioritize preparing healthy meals and eat them without distractions, we are more present to the eating experience. We're less likely to overeat, our digestion and nutrient absorption improves and we're less likely to be foraging for more food an hour later.
Being mindful of our eating patterns means observing without judgment
we habitually eat. Our stress about food and our overeating tendencies reduce when we eat mindfully.
The first step we must take in any effort of change is building awareness. Once we identify our patterns we can then start to choose differently with our wellbeing in mind.
To your good health!
