We live in a world of abundance, so I believe it's especially important to keep things in perspective. Approximately 80 percent of the world's population survives on less than $10 per day after all!
My hope in my work as a certified whole health coach and through my blogs is that I inspire you to appreciate your good health and act as a proactive and intentional caretaker of it.
If you follow me on facebook you know I'm a major proponent of adopting a gratitude practice. It's a simple daily ritual with proven profoundly positive benefits on one's well-being.
Here's how easy it is:
1. Grab a notebook (or use an app if you're more electronically inclined)
2. Set aside a few minutes before bedtime to reflect on your day and the positive things in your life
3. Record 3 to 5 things for which you feel grateful or that simply made you smile that day, whether big or small (e.g. I am healthy, my son hugged me today, I have a job I love.)
Gratitude practice benefits:
It affirms the goodness in your life; Helps you see the silver lining in most any situation.
Triggers the calming branch of your nervous system
Lowers blood pressure
Has positive anti-inflammatory impacts
Increases your overall sense of well-being--emotional and physical
Some people call it 'vitamin G' and I take it daily without fail and have for many years.
To your good health!
